In my painting class in the Spring, we each made an individual series. Mine showcased the meaning of Berkeley to me. I realized that what a place means to me changes with time and depends much on the people that occupy that place for me.
The first piece in this series shows me and is also my first experimentation in the style that influences the other pieces. This was my first time working on canvas and on this scale.
When I went to college I did not bring any art materials with me. In an act of desperation I bought a blank scrapbook and began to fill it in with colleges of scrap pieces.
Notice: Thumbnails are stacked by recency, and exact dates are written along the spine (usually).
During my senior year in high school, I was required to do a 12-piece concentration on a subject of my choice. I chose to illustrate the poem of a friend’s in order to better understand how to express my own thoughts to others. Enjoy.
In 11th grade I chose to devote a whole semester to pieces that involved the hands. Not only because of the endless possibilites, but also because of their convenient location. I could have one of my own model for me exactly the way I wanted, whenever I pleased.
During my 10th grade year I took my mom’s old linear algebra book and altered the pages with random things. Currently this book belongs to my semi-ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. I want it back. If I ever get it back, I’ll add more!
